Thank you

Dana, the kids and I would like to thank everyone who donated money towards Nicholas’ AAA hockey camp which took place over the last six weeks. A special thank you to Junior St-Onge who organized a fundraiser dance at the Municipal Hall. The money received that evening, along with generous donations from various groups, such as the Volunteer Fire Department, the Mutual Aid Committee, the Knights of Columbus and the Rotary Club, gave us a grand total of $984.00 which was greatly appreciated on our various trips to Quebec City, Montreal, Three Rivers, etc. We can’t say thank‑you enough to all our family, friends and neighbors for their overwhelming show of support.           Susan

Knights of Columbus

A big Thank You to the population of Cascapedia-St-Jules for their donations of $1 000.15 collected during the telethon.

Clean-up Day

A heartfelt Thank You to all of the volunteers who came out and helped to clean up the ditches and roads.  Even though the crew was very small it was a job well done.

Cascapedia River Museum-Official Opening

The Cascapedia River Museum will be hosting an open house June 26th for the official opening of the Princess Louise temporary exhibition and everyone is invited to attend.  This young woman was born as a Princess to one of the most formidable women of history, Queen Victoria.  She was blessed with beauty, intelligence and position.  The exhibition will bring to life many aspects of her life including her connection to the Cascapedia River.  Also on this day there will be the official Canadian book launch for Hoagy Carmichael’s book “The Grand Cascapedia River-A History”. Mr. Carmichael will be on site for a book signing event.  Many activities have been planned for this day and we will be sending out more details at a later date.

To preserve and maintain this magnificent river we must first discover its rich heritage!

Book Room-Fundraiser

Wednesday May 31st and June 7th from 10-4 donations for our Youth Center will be collected at the Book Room 319 route 299.  Come and pick up your summer reading and make a donation to a very worthy cause.  Thank You.

Society Cascapedia

Following our public meeting, we are happy to announce that our organization is financially healthy and we have signed a long term agreement (10 years) with the Cascapedia Club which guarantees 75 jobs. We also spoke about the company bylaws that have to be revisited and a committee was formed to address this issue.
